Overview
MarketPlace is a page created by TutorFirst populated with information from your TutorFirst database. This is a combination of a Storefront, customer login and customer account creation for new customers.
You can publish this page to your website or use a page created by TutorFirst that you can link to from your website.
You may have more than one instance of MarketPlace Storefront for different services, if required. For example keeping your tutoring sales separate to Summer Camp.

What MarketPlace Does
It can perform any or all of the following:
1. Storefront - Available Services - Sell hours of service or charge fees to your customers or prospects using your Session Types.
2. Storefront - Packages - Sell multiple sessions held in a Schedule to your customers or prospects using Schedules
3. Storefront - Sessions - Sell individual sessions to your customers or prospects using Sessions or sell sessions from Schedules individually.
4. Storefront - Tutors - Show a list of your Tutors with photographs and bio with a booking button for your customers or new customers to book and buy time with a tutor.
5. Custom Login - Provide a custom label login for your customers and tutors to login to their TutorFirst account via your website without TutorFirst branding.
How it Works
6. A storefront page is created by TutorFirst, either:
- Copy the code to publish on your website.
- Use the URL provided to link your website through to a page that we host.
Any MarketPlace purchases are advised by email to the email address listed on the My Accounts page in TutorFirst.
To have in Place
7. For sales your TutorFirst database must be connected to Authorize.Net or Stripe if you will be charging for any of the items you publish to the MarketPlace storefront. Items can be listed for free if required.

SU25b. Credit Card Processing in TutorFirst by Stripe
8. If you choose to publish the TutorFirst MarketPlace code on a page on your website: The code will take up at least a width of 1000 pixels so the page must not have a left or right sidebar and be at least 1024 pixels wide. We reserve the right to disable MarketPlace code that is not displayed correctly.
Activate & Set if MarketPlace will be for Sales or Free
9. This step must be done.
Go to: Setup > Company > Config Settings > Database > MarketPlace:
- Set to Enabled if you will be charging your customers
- Set to Utopia if all services you offer are free and there will be no credit card check out.
10. If you will have multiple instances of MarketPlace and some will charge and some will be free set this to Enabled. You will need to create free services for your free instance of Marketplace.
Create an instance of MarketPlace
11. Go to: Setup > Other > MarketPlace.
12. Your new database comes with one instance enabled. Press Enable MarketPlace if not already enabled or you need a second instance.
13. Press New Configuration. Name this instance of your MarketPlace Storefront configuration. For example if you wish to have Summer Camp on a separate website page call it Summer Camp.
14. Once named, select your new instance of MarketPlace from the dropdown menu so that you may set configurations.
15. In Sections choose the sections headers you wish to show for this instance of your MarketPlace website page. We will look at these more closely as we set up the items to sell. You can always come back and do this later.
16. In the Packages and Sessions columns choose the session types you will be selling on this instance of MarketPlace. We will look at these more closely as we set up the items to sell. You can always come back and do this later.
17. From the Configuration tab you can copy the code snippet to publish on your website or copy the URL to place behind a button on your website to link through to your page hosted by us.
18. Repeat if you require additional instances of MarketPlace. Then choose the next tutorial to continue setting up.
If Required Prevent Registration
19. If you will be using your MarketPlace Storefront for existing customers only and do not want new customers to be able to create an account, disable the registration feature.
20. Go to: Setup > MarketPlace > Choose instance if more than one MarketPlace > Configuration > Storefront > Disable Registration.
Concierge Service
21. When transitioning to a new platform the storefront on your website is often the item you need to switch out early, while you are not familiar with your new TutorFirst platform. To save time while you are learning TutorFirst we can set up your MarketPlace configuration for you as part of our paid Concierge Service.
Concierge is billed at $50.00 per hour. Submit a support ticket with the items you would like to display in MarketPlace and we will quote to perform the initial set up for you.
Custom Login Page for Tutors & Customers
22. Tutors will log into a simple interface called TutorPlace, and a custom login is created automatically for Tutors (& Customers) by TutorFirst.
You can find a link for the custom login or the code to publish this to your website by going to:
Setup > Marketplace > Select Instance > Configuration > Snippet.
Copy the quick URL to see the login produced on an TutorFirst hosted page or copy the code and publish to your website for your customers to login on a page hosted by you.
