The Student Grade Equivalent
1. When testing a student in Oases with a test where Oases calculates the score, a student Grade Equivalent is also calculated and added to the test data on the student test tab. This score indicates the grade level of the student's performance.
Legacy Calculation
2. The Legacy calculation is the default for your database.
3. Grade Equivalent scores are calculated as follows:
- 100% - Up two grade levels
- 80% - Up one grade level
- 60% - On Grade
- 40% - Down one grade level
- 20% - Down two grade levels
4. Fractions of the Grade Equivalent will be calculated for scores that fall between the above.
Contemporary Calculation
5. If you choose the contemporary calculation the Grade Equivalent scores are calculated as follows:
- 93-100% At GE
- 83-92.99% 0.15 below GE
- 73-82.99% 0.30 below GE
- 63-72.99% 0.45 below GE
- 53-62.99% 0.60 below GE
- 43-52.99% 0.75 below GE
- 33-42.99% 1.0 below GE
- 23-32.99% 1.15 below GE
- 3-22.99% 1.30 below GE
- 3-12.99% 1.45 below GE
- 0-2.99% 1.60 below GE
Change the Grade Equivalent Calculation Method
6. Go to Setup > Company > Config Settings > Student > Grade Equivalency Scheme.
7. Make your change and press Apply Changes.
8. The calculation change will apply to all new tests entered and will not change previously entered tests.
