
Overview
Staff members have Tutor Code assigned that in turn allocates a status. This is displayed in the status column of the staff grid and determines where they appear in the system and what may be done by and with the record.

The Tutor Code
The default setting is Auto to allow TutorFirst to automatically assign a status based on what has been actioned for this staff member.
The staff member's current status may be seen at the top of the record and the code may be viewed and set via the company tab. In the example below Ollie has been set to a Tutor Code of Auto for TutorFirst to assign the overall status of Active.
As well as inside the record the final assigned code whether it was assigned automatically by TutorFirst or assigned manually by a team member will be displayed in the staff grid as shown below.
Keep the tutor code set to AUTO to allow TutorFirst to assign a code automatically depending on the actual status of this person based on the application packet and if sessions are scheduled for this employee.

Overriding the Auto Code
You can override the AUTO code with Ready if you wish to assign a tutor to a student or session but keep in mind that assigning a student or a student session means the tutor has access to that student's data via their login.
Code Allocation Options
Here are the options for what can be chosen on the staff company tab:
AUTO: Set the Tutor Code to Auto and TutorFirst will move the staff member through the document collating process and automatically present them as Ready to tutor and then move them to active status when scheduled. A staff member who is actively working for you should always be set to auto.
While in Auto TutorFirst will assign a code of Pending, Ready or Active depending on the stage reached.
INACTIVE (OVERRIDE): Select this if the staff member no longer works for you either permanently or is on extended leave and you don’t want the tutor to be available to be assigned to students or sessions. Will move the staff record from the main view of the staff grid and will be visible only when the filter is set to show inactive.
PENDING (OVERRIDE): Select this if you don't want the tutor to be able to be placed on new sessions or assigned new students temporarily.
READY (OVERRIDE): Select this if the tutor has not returned all of their legally required items in the application packet but you need them to be available for assigning to students or sessions. As soon as the application packet is completed be sure to switch them back to auto.
TERMINATED (OVERRIDE): Select this if the tutor or staff member has been fired and you don’t want the tutor to be available to be assigned to students or sessions. Will move the staff record from the main view of the staff grid and will be visible only when the filter is set to show inactive.
HUMAN RESOURCES (OVER RIDE): Select this if you have not hired the staff member yet and you don’t want the tutor to be available to be assigned to students or sessions and you wish to show the staff member has not yet been hired. As soon as they are hired switch them to auto.
