Overview
When a customer is new or you do not provide your customers with a login to the portal you may wish for them to add credit card details to have on file via a secure link.

To Have in Place
1/ Credit card processing with Stripe: SU25b. Credit Card Processing in TutorFirst by Stripe
2/ An email template to email the link to customers: SU08.b. Create, Edit or Delete Email Template To Email from TutorFirst
3/ Create a parent email template.
4/ Populate the Template with your message similar to the one shown below.

5/ Open the billing tab in your new customer's record and scroll to the bottom.
6/ If you only use Stripe then you can leave the Payment Profile as Using Default. If you have more than one select a Stripe profile.
7/ Press New Payment Method at the top of this section. If you have the credit card details you can enter them manually or press Generate Payment Method Link if you want to send a secure entry page to your customer.
8/ The link will automatically copy to your clipboard.
Send Link
9/ At the top of the page for this customer press the email icon.
10/ Select your template.
11/ Highlight the link text you added and press on the link icon.
12/ Paste the link into the URL field.
13/ Press any empty space in your template to check the link is live.
14/ Make any other edits and send the email.
Link Lifespan
15/ The link will be valid for 5 days, after which it will expire and a new link will need to be sent.
Confirmation
16/ You will receive a confirmation email to the email address listed on your My Account page when the customer has completed the entry.
Capturing Credit Card Details with DocSign
17/ If you will be sending a DocSign for your parent to sign you can bypass sending a separate link and include it in your contract.
18/ Add the macro to create the link to the Parent DocSign template in setup. Add instructional text as this must be done before your customer signs the DocSign.
When your customer opens the DocSign it will look like this:
19/ The credit card details will be saved to the Billing Tab in the customer record.
20/ There are two macros to choose from. The one detailed above creates a link with text but if you would like to program your own message using html use the macro for a raw link.
