Overview
Standards and goals are used on Learning Plans to define the areas that will be tutored.
The Common Core and individual State Standards are pre-loaded for your use for MA, LA, SC and SS (Math, Language Arts, Science & Social Studies).
You can:
- Edit existing standards
- Add notes to existing standards
- Load your own standards in MA, LA, SC & SS
- Load goals for Instructional Focus Codes you have created

Access Standards
1. In the main menu select: Setup > Locations > Active Standards.
2. In the menus select:
- A state or Common Core
- Instructional Focus
- Grade
3. The existing pre-loaded standards will display.
4. If the box pops up empty simply press LOAD THIS STATE then follow the prompt.
Limit the Standards Available
5. In this page you are able to limit the the standards available for learning plans and progress reports.
6. To the left of the standard number there are green check marks showing the standard is available.
7. If you don't need a standard change the green check to a red x. Press the red x to reactivate.
Edit the Standards
8. On this page you can also edit the description by clicking on it, making your changes, and clicking outside the edit box.
Add a Note to Standards
9. You can also use this page to add notes to a standard. Press on the relevant row under Summary/Notes and add text. This note is not visible on learning plans and is for office use only.
Add your own Standards
10. You can add your own standard to the existing standards list or to an instructional focus code you have added.

11. To add your own standard pull up the standard list as detailed in points 1 and 2 above.
12. Press Add Row. This will add a row at the bottom of the list. Type descriptor into the search field to filter existing standards out.
13. In the level column enter the level number:
- Level 1 is the overarching standard or the group heading.
- Level 2 would be a goal that sits under the overarching standard.
- Level 3 would be a sub goal.
14. In the Standard column give your standard a code or a name.
15. In the descriptor write in your standard. For Level 1 this would be the group heading and for level 2 the actual skills or goals.
16. Repeat for the goals giving appropriate codes and level numbers. Repeat for any other grades that need the standards.
17. When creating a manual learning plan these options will appear under focus and grade for which they were added.
Import Standards & Goals
18. If you have the same standards to add for each grade or multiple standards to add for each grade consider using the import spreadsheet template as it is easy to copy and paste text in the template.
19. In the main menu select: Setup > Data Import > Template Import.
20. From Export Templates & ID's download the Standards template.
21. Add all standards to your import template following the examples on the template. Don't forget to remove the examples before uploading.
- Column A - Will have the state code or CC for common core if you want to add your goals to the existing common core standard list.
- Column B - will have the instructional focus code. Only use a code that exists in your database.
- Column C - 1 for an over-arching standard. 2 for a goal. 3 for a sub goal.
- Column D - A code that makes the standard identifiable.
- example 4.1 where the grade is 4 the level is 1 and the goal is the first overarching goal
- example 4.1.1 where the grade is 4 and the overarching goal is 1 and it's the first goal of this group
- example 4.1.2 where the grade is 4 and the overarching goal is 1 and it's the second goal of that group
- Column E - Text for the overarching goal or goal. This field must contain text.
22. If the same standard is to appear for each grade it will need to be in the template for each grade.
23. Save the template to your computer.
24. Import your template by returning to the import page in Oases and pressing in the standards field.
25. Follow the prompts.
Reorder Standards
26. Use the up and down arrows on the rows to reorder standards.
