Phone Number Format
1. Add or re-enter the cell phone number in E164 format (international format) that includes a plus sign and international code. A United States number would be added as +15555555555 and a United Kingdom number would be added with +44 and omit the first zero from the area code.
Notification Mode
2. In the notification field choose an option with SMS. Choose SMS & Email (recommended) for the recipient to be emailed and texted and SMS Only* Notification to receive texts only.
3. Keep in mind that not all messages sent by Oases have an SMS version at this time which is why we recommend SMS & Email so that messages that are email only will still be delivered.Also, if the record owner cancels text verification then with this option emails will still be sent.
Notification Mode if including TutorPlace
4. If your tutors will be texting from TutorPlace both the student and customer texting icons are on the same page. Therefore, both the student and parent records must be set to Notification: SMS & Email, even if you will not be enabling SMS for the student.
Verify
5. Press Edit on the first tab of the record:
- Students = Info tab
- Customers = Details tab
- Staff = Contact tab
6. Next to the cell phone number press Enable SMS. If you don't see the Enable SMS ensure you have SMS texting or refresh to the page.
7. Check the confirmation slider and Confirm the popup.
8. There will be a screen notification that SMS enabled. Refresh the browser.

Grey Cell Phone - SMS not enabled
Green Cell Phone - SMS Enabled

10. If a record is set for notifications to SMS only and they send STOP via the cell phone and the cell phone icon in the record turns red, it will be necessary to switch their notification preferences to Email Only for them to receive any messages from Oases, for this reason we recommend setting the notification to SMS & Email.
11. If a record's cell phone number is verified showing a green cell phone but the notification is set to email, then texts cannot be sent. We recommend setting the notification to SMS & Email.
