Things to Know
1.Standard texting is for Lead Teacher, Coordinator and Admin access using the main Oases interface.
You have the option to include texting for your tutors from TutorPlace from: Setup > Integrations > SMS > Turn on.
Pricing
2. Text messaging from Oases is a paid service paying for messages only:
Messages from a US line to a US number are 5c per message.
Messages from a UK line to a UK number are 5c per message.
Additional rates apply to text a number that is premium or international and will depend on the circumstances.
Billing is monthly, in arrears, to your card on file. Prices are subject to increases passed to us by the operating company. Oases does reserve the right to change from arrears billing to advanced billing with due notice.
Recipient Opt In/Out
3. No Opt In from recipients is required.
4. Recipients may opt out at any time by texting STOP. Recipients can reactivate by texting START. Customers can also opt out on the billing page of the customer login.
Number Format
5. Phone numbers in Oases records must be entered in E164 format (international format) that includes a plus sign and international code. A United States number would be added as +15555555555 and a United Kingdom number would be added with +44 and omit the first zero from the area code.
6. Recipients can reply to your text messages and the response will go into the text stream in their record and into the SMS Log report. Email notification is possible see point 11.
7. The notification field in each record that defaults to 'Email Only' will need to be changed to include an SMS option. Changing to SMS only will prevent any emails being sent to the recipient and not all notifications have a text option so we recommend selecting SMS & Email. This will also ensure that should the recipient opt out of texts the email version will be sent.
8. Long messages and messages that contain macros that merge lots of data (over 150 characters including spaces) will be split into separate messages and you will be charged per message.
9. The SMS templates for automated messages such as session reminders and schedule bid offers must be set up in the Set Up Templates area. We do not pre-populate these templates as texting is a fee based service. If you do not create the SMS template the text message will not be sent.
10. At this time not all outbound emails have an SMS equivalent.
